FAQ

What is the difference between coaching and therapy?

Let’s be frank- there is overlap. In both settings, clients participate in personal conversations aimed at improving mental health and positively impacting their lives. I am not a psychologist, therapist, or social worker and for things I am not trained to do, I will refer you to a specialist. I do not see clients with active addictions or who are dealing with acute depression. Making sweeping generalizations about coaching vs. therapy is impossible, as there are many different types of practitioners using different approaches in both fields, but I will do my best to point to some key differences.

The Past-While occasionally the past can be useful to investigate, my coaching is more about where you are now and where you want to go.

Pushback- In my coaching, you will receive direct, truthful, and nonjudgemental feedback and reflection to challenge your thought patterns and call you out on your BS. Many clients tell me they don’t receive the same type of compassionate pushback that catalyzes growth in the therapy space.

Modalities- I work with intuitive questioning, energetic frequency, ancient spiritual teachings, neuroscience-backed habit building tools, breathing techniques, visualization, guided meditation and other modalities. You can trust me to weave together the modalities that are appropriate and will be most impactful for you.

Regulation- The coaching industry is largely unregulated in the US, meaning there is no single universal licensing qualification or certification process. This also means there is a lack of oversight and regulation in the field. Anyone can call themselves a coach and start working with clients, which raises the risk for potential exploitation, misguided advice and overstepping boundaries— and these things do happen. Like choosing any professional to support you personally, it’s important to use discretion, and trust your gut. If something feels off to you, then something is off. You should be able to find a person’s qualifications easily and feel comfortable asking about their experience. Successful coaches who stay in the industry get results for their clients. Read client reviews and ask to talk to people who have worked with the coach before.

Continuing Education- Because of the lack of regulation, the onus for continuing education lies solely on each practitioner. If you’ve read any of my website, you can probably sense my commitment to learning. I take continuing my education and uplevelling my coaching very seriously. I have a coach of my own because I know and believe in the value of this work. I participate in ongoing self-exploration and personal development, attend relevant conferences and workshops, and continuously study both business and spirituality. I am deeply committed to my own journey inward, and the farther I go, the farther I can take my clients.

Why did you get into coaching?

I saw what life was like without this work, both in myself and in people close to me growing up. Suppressed emotions turned to outbursts. Pain not processed projected unintentionally onto others. Leadership that drains instead of inspires. Confusion, anxiety, depression. My life would look very different today had I not begun working with my spiritual teacher more than a decade ago. He taught me how to use my life as a curriculum to heal and evolve at the deepest levels—to bring my unconscious into the conscious and use it to create a life I wanted. This is now what I do for others.

What is your niche?

I help growth-oriented people get out of their own way and thrive personally and professionally.

If you are interested in living a fulfilling and expansive life, both spiritually and physically, this work is for you. It might surprise you to learn that we do not need to unload all our belongings and renounce the physical world to become spiritual people. I take what’s ineffable and esoteric and make it practical for your everyday life.

Classic filters like age, gender, and area of life are not applicable here. We use the “issues” you come to coaching with to access your underlying subconscious programming and do the real inner work that leads to the kind of change that impacts every area of your life. I have worked successfully with clients on relationships (familial, friend, and romantic), careers, business leadership, life purpose, money, confidence, health and more.

This work is for everyone who is ready for it.

What is inner work?

Inner work is the process of exploring your thoughts, emotions, beliefs, and patterns so you can understand yourself more deeply and live from a place of authenticity and alignment. It’s about turning inward with honesty and compassion, taking real responsibility, and tending to the parts of you that have been overlooked to create space for real transformation. Read more here.

How long will I work with you?

Most clients work with me on an ongoing basis. You may choose to increase or decrease the frequency of our calls based on what is happening in your life. You can always take breaks or end coaching at any time.

What does it cost?

Cost and frequency of calls will vary depending on what fits best in your life. While, to get the most from coaching, it’s important that you invest both financially and energetically, I aim to never have cost be an inhibitory factor. We will discuss these details on our free introductory call.

Discounts available for full time artists. We need your work in the world.
